In May 2009 I graduated with from Loyola
University, Chicago with a Masters degree in Public History. This
website is inspired by the observations made in my Master's Essay, Is Family History Public History?
If family history is indeed
public history, then I can see no better way to demonstrate this than to create
a public history website devoted to my own family history? My purpose is
trifold: First, to serve as a practical application of my graduate
school education; second, as a place for my on-going work of
remembering and preserving my family's history; and thirdly, as a means to show how family history can be practically presented as public history.
Most of the entries on
this site are rooted in historical fact, yet where there was no
information to be found, I have taken historic and artistic liberties.
It is my pleasure to share with you my research, challenges and
discoveries; the stories that emerged from the pages of history.
